Photos were taken during La Mer California Beach Party at SKYE
Hi, everyone.
I'm currently not doing anything important beside munching my favorite apples & strawberries (I have a guilty pleasure of buying super huge strawberries which cost me quite a heck of money) in my bedroom, alone.
Well, I admit that it's been a while since the last time I had a real leisure time (or in Indonesian slang: gabut), because most of my leisure time I always go to the gym (which I've told u numerous times lol). I know it's not good to keep stressing over my weight, how much I eat, and how many calories I should burn in a day T.T... My mom had reminded me over and over again to eat properly & not going to the gym so often.
Finally yesterday, I just got warned by God not to over-do that habit.
I fell sick again and went to the hospital last night. I am quite shocked because I thought I am just fine even with the amount of fruits I consume regularly.
But thankfully, I'm still able to go to school. It's almost the last week of the semester, and also the most important one, hence I am totally forbidden to miss the classes!!
My final projects were quite crazy and I spent a month working on them. Assignments didn't stop coming and they pilled up like a mountain. The hardest ones were making a Textile Album (an album of 15 different fibers with their characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses) and a fashion Comparison Book (12 comparisons of 12 different eras with the interpretations in modern days). My apartment was full of fabrics and my laptop's desktop was full of pictures.
For the textile album, I went to many fabric stores, asked my friends' help, my mom's help, and even went to a local market to look for the fabrics. After that, I had to cut the fabrics, burn them to test their characteristics, stick them on the album, and write the details.
For the comparison book, the layouting part was the hardest. My friends are super creative in making a simple yet interesting layout design. I used to think that creative is in my blood, but now I feel that it doesn't count in terms of layouting.... Making the print was also very hard. The deadline for this book is tomorrow (for fashion phenomena lecturer) and I went to printing store to print the book 2 days ago. I checked the result this afternoon. Well overall the quality is nice but the printing guy put a blank page behind my cover which makes the facing pages after it dissapear (so it's not a left-right pic, but front-back). I hope my lecturer doesn't mind and just pay attention to my content T_T. GOD PLEASEEEEE GIVE ME YOUR MERCY AND SEND ME ANGELS FOR MY JUDGEMENT TOMORROW .
I printed another version of the book for my computer lab lecturer, but this one I used perfect binding and smaller size. I went to different printing store than the first one because I also feel that the color isn't really nice there and spent 1,5 hours only to test-print at this another store and make sure they'll print it right. I WILL PRAY HARD THAT THIS ONE WILL BE MUCH BETTER.

So guys, please pray for my final projects... WISH ME LUCK!... and I hope my body will get better soon! CIAOOO! :'>
Just like what I told you before on my previous post, this was our very first trip overseas (beside asean countries) that we visited without tour guide/ tour services/ packages.
This trip is my parents' 3rd visit and my 2nd visit to Japan, but previously we always took tour services from Indonesia, where we were provided everything from visa, tickets, reservations.. So we only needed to sit nicely in the bus and they'd take us to the tourist attractions!
It all started when I was randomly checking out cheap airplane tickets (in July) and found a great deal from Jakarta to Japan on Airasia's website. Then I told my parents about it. We loveee Japan very much at every visit we make, and we're also a big fan of the food there. This year, there are also so many news and tv shows about Japan's tourist attractions and at that time, we realized that there are still so many places that we haven't visited in Japan, and how we missed their authentic Japanese food / street food when we went there with tour guide (usually, Indonesian tour services will take us to chinese restaurants most of the time... lol). Moreover, we feel like we're always in a rush when going with tour, as we're supposed to visit maaaanny places in a short time. So, the shopping time and photo time are so limited!!
At first they hesitated as none of us can speak Japanese and many Japanese can't speak English.
But I read many Indonesian bloggers' blogpost about their trip to Japan without tour guide, and it's not hard at all. I was really helped by myfunfoodiary's blogposts, and also Ashley's, cominica's, stella lee's, and elle & jess' ! :)
WHAT I PREPARED BEFORE GOING TO JAPAN:
Bought airplane ticket (JKT-Narita(Tokyo) & Kansai(Osaka)-JKT) from Airasia.com (IDR 5,5mill/person)
Booked apartment in Tokyo (via airbnb.com) and hotel in Osaka (via agoda.com)
Booked pocket wifi . (very important to go around Japan to see the train schedules on hyperdia.com and also google map) from Global Advanced Comm
Making itinerary and completing documents for visa
Calculating the approximate cost of transportation while in Japan to decide whether I need a JR Pass or not
Learning about the train's tracks / maps, so the itinerary is neat and I won't overcost on transportation. I also make a draft document about what transportation I'd take from the airport to the apartment, from the nearest station from my apartment to go around tokyo, from Tokyo - Osaka, Osaka - Kyoto, till from the hotel to the airport . All of those routes can be found in hyperdia.com's website! They also include the fares, the time, and the tracks which are VERY useful.
We arrived on December 19th morning in Narita Airport, then we decided to take the Airport limousine bus where the ticket can be purchased in front of the arrival exit for around ¥3000 one way to Shibuya (cerulean tower tokyu hotel). The trip took about 2 hours.
BESTTTTT HOT CHOCO EVER!!! I drank this every morning since the vending machine in our apartment's lobby got this van houten. Hehe!
Japanese are VERY PUNCTUAL. I purchased my bus ticket for 9:05am departure at 9:03 (which means I only got 2 minutes left to hop onto the bus) , but then I 'lost' my phone and I and my parents had to get off the bus and looked for my phone, only to found out it's actually in my coat's pocket. LOL. My parents were quite pissed of how clumsy I was as their "private tour guide" on our first day in Japan, while we still got 5 days to go dealing with my clumsiness .
So, the bus left us but they said I may change the ticket for the next departure time for free!
Right after we arrived in Cerulean Tokyo Tower Hotel (which is the bus stop in Shibuya area), we asked the hotel's staff the way/route to Dogenzaka area (our apartment) since we still hadn't got our pocket wifi yet (it's delivered to our apartment).
We were surprised to see the momiji (autumn leaves)! I thought it's not available anymore in December. So we stopped to take a picture in front of the pretty tree!! #perksofnotgoingwithatourguide.
Damn soft pork belly cuts
While we were 'lost' looking for our apartment. My mom insisted to stop by this small restaurant because she said it smelled so good even from outside and we hadn't had our breakfast yet.
The staffs couldn't speak english but luckily we ordered the food through a vending machine (thank God I've read some infos about Japanese's vending machines in food stalls) and we just needed to press the number of the menu (there were food miniatures in front of this restaurant along with their numbers in the menu). Our meals were affordable! ¥480-500 with free ocha :)
This pork katsu with egg & onions were really good :9
I've calculated the whole transportation cost for our trip in Japan and we don't need a JR Pass. We decided to get ourselves a Suica card each. It's like a bca flazz card but we use it in JR train stations (for JR lines). We filled the card with some amount of money (¥2000) . Everytime we pass the gate, we just stick the card to the sensor and it'd read the station we get in, and stick again at the exit gate (and they'll charge you the fee automatically by cutting off the amount you have in your card. There are discounts too (for example. shibuya station to harajuku is ¥210, but after discount the fare is only ¥190) rather than purchasing a usual ticket one by one for every trip).
This Suica card can only be used for JR lines . For metro/subway, you need to purchase Pasmo card (same function) . I didn't purchase Pasmo card since I didn't take many routes through metro/subway lines, so everytime I needed to take a subway/metro, I just bought a ticket at the ticket machines ;)
Good morning Shibuya!! Thank you so much to the police officer in front of Shibuya station who spoke English very well and showed us the way to our apartment, and also a very kind Japanese who also helped us although he couldn't speak english.. so both of us used the sign languages.. lol
Yay... we're getting close to our apartment!! Look at the pretty sky and sunlight :D
After we've arrived at our apartment, we took a moment to take a rest and change our clothes to wander around Shibuta till night!
There's a Lawson store in front of our apartment. I got myself a pocky and also a very yummy warm milk tea :9
The famous SHIBUYA109 Mall was very close to our apartment. There are so many famous brands like Snidel, Emoda, Liz Liza, Samantha Vega, and maaaany more. I and my mom went a lil bit crazy shopping at that mall. Even the shop assistans were very pretty and cute!! xD
Randomly visited a standing (yes... standing as it means there's not any chair / seat to sit on) sushi bar in Shibuya.. The sushi was good!!
I have an extraordinary tummy, so we went in to a Yoshinoya stall and I tried this pork belly rice which's not available in Indonesia.. Omg.. it's sooo yummyyyy!! Wish they could bring this menu to Indonesia T_T
If you're wondering, my dad took all pics of me and I took all pics without me in it :D. I brought my canon eos 600D and 50mm f1/8 lens. On the two last days on my trip, my dad bought a new cam from BIC Camera shibuya. It's Canon eos m2 and we used it to took our pics while we're in Osaka & Kyoto. All of the photos in this post were still taken by my iPhone & EOS 600D!
Although Indonesia doesn't have winter season, my outfit's color palettes also changed into the fall/winter mood which usually consist of black, white, red, camel, and so on.
I like wearing black and white lately, but still... with a hint of my favorite color when it comes to fashion = RED B-)
I also wear my faaaavv striped bustier. I've worn it for around 5 times I think? Here's the collage of it
I did this quick photoshoot with my brother last week when he came home to celebrate dad's birthday. Sorry it took me so long to publish the photos due to the hectic-ness I had while preparing for my school's annual expo & competition last Friday & Saturday X_X. Thankfully the event was successful and the weather was bright and so sunny! Imagine how awful it'd be if it were raining!
I don't know why but I'm quite addicted with red lipstick. I used to hateee it so much. But after my fav make up artist did my make up for my presweet17 shoot last April, I just fell in love with red lipstick!! This time I borrowed my mom's Dior lipstick. I wrote this post at 11pm , so I can't tell you which shade it is since my mom's sleeping alrd! hehehe
This noon I accidentally took a super long nap from 2pm till 8pm. I had been so sleepy since Friday - Sunday because I was so tired and barely had enough sleep. I already took a nap last Sunday, but this morning I was so sleepy at school and even took a nap in the class (sorry, sir! couldn't help it T.T). I couldn't help to skip my physics course too (this included turning off my alarm after snoozing it repeatedly and asking my mom not to wake me up anymore with 20% soul) while I'm gonna have a test next week and I haven't really understood the materials. T____T omg grade 12's physics is no jokee......

If you're following my ig, you probably have read a sad story about these sneakers. These shoes were actually white, but they were ruined after being washed (I didn't know the canvas material would turn yellow-ish when I tried to remove the stains with water). I brought them to a laundry too but they couldn't fix it and the sneakers' color turned even worse than before. So, they told me whether I would mind or not if they painted them black to cover all the stains. I thought why not! So here they are. Hahaha! Handling a white canvas sneaker is a new lesson for me!
Anyway, I'm gonna go to bed right now or I'll be sleepy again tomorrow morning xD.
Do follow my instagram @verenleecious :)
Hi! I've just got the chance to update my blog since I was really busy last weekend. Straight from school, I went home and then prepared myself for a photoshoot at Saturday noon, then went to my friend's birthday dinner in the evening.
On Sunday, I had some rest in the morning by doing nothing but chatting and laying on the bed with my friend who stayed over at my house because my parents were away... Then at 12 we went out to have lunch (thank God I'm able to drive now and I also already have my own driving license!) . At 3 we went out again to have a photoshoot for this outfit, after the photoshoot's done, I drove my friend & my photographer home ;)
For this outfit, I've been wanting for a sleeveless vest for a quite long time. Then I was so happy to get one from Little Muses. I decided to mix it with a lace skirt that I haven't worn for such a looonggg time!
red glitter shades from Kate Spade (c/o Shopbop.com)
These photos were taken at the old city hall in Tegal and we suddenly found this pretty tree in front of the police station.. lol. I should've worn pink if I knew sooner :(.
This week is gonna be full of daily exam. Tomorrow I'll have math, english on friday, and chinese on saturday. Headache has already appeared even before all of it start. T_T. So I guess I gotta sleep after posting this ...
Thanks to Agatha Calysta for the photos, and Sarah for accompanying meee :*
p.s: anyone knows how to make my cheeks less chubbier (no bronzer / photoshop, I mean a real way, or a diet for cheeks?) hahaha T.T. I'm feeling so chubbyy lately.
